We're stoked to have you join us at INDIE Summer 2017! We have a few things you need to do to set up right. Don't worry, it's pretty simple stuff.
For presenting your brand, we're going to create:
- Logo and blurb to introduce your brand to buyers
- Folder with your linesheets
- Tent card with show specials
- Collateral with your info for buyers to leave with
What do you need to do to make that happen?
1. Send your Brand Logo (1 Min)
Due: June 15th
Send a vector logo (.eps format), just attach it in response to the "Next Steps" Email
We'll create a wall decal with your logo and a blurb about your business.
2. Send show special requirements (10 Mins)
Due: June 15th
They will be printed on a tent card. The format will be like below
Min order: $Your desired amount (usually double reorder amount)
Reorder: $Your desired amount
Any other offer goes here*
You don't have to do show specials, but if decide to, here are a few ways to do offer specials
-You could temporarily lower your min order if you typically have a high min order
If your cost per unit, for example, jewelry that wholesales at $30, you could lower the min order from $500 to down to $300, however, if your wholesale is $100 and min order is $500 then you probably should not lower it.
-For higher cost products you could offer free freight over a certain dollar amt
-For heavy items like furniture, you could offer free freight for a large order
-You could offer a discount if you go above min order tiers
2X min order, get 5% discount
3Xmin order, get 10% discount
and so on...
3. Post your products to SKUE (1Hr)
Due Date: June 18th
You might have done this already. If you haven't received an invite or misplaced it, please get in touch, it will follow shortly. The instructions on how to list products are in the invite. We're going to send a preview email to our buyer list.
4. Send us a PDF of your linesheets (2 Mins)
Due Date: July 3rd
If you have your own line sheets, those could work, make sure to run them by us to make sure you are not missing any information.
If you need help with figuring out any of this, please get in touch right away.
What size table or wall will I get to work with?
We have wall space and tables of two different sizes. However, not everyone needs a wall and not everyone needs a large table. We're paying careful attention to make sure your space doesn't look sparse and presents your collection in the best possible way. Tables sizes are approx 5.5X2.5 ft or 4X2.5 ft tables based on the size of your collection following discussions we've had with your earlier.
The tables will be handmade and designed to fit with the aesthetic of the space and show branding, so modifications with runners, table cloths are discouraged (but check with us).
What should I bring?
We don't want to lug around a lot of stuff, other than the essentials.
If you have any props that have worked for you, let us know.
If you have a folding chair that you can bring, that would be great.
You do not need to bring signage or catalogs since we'll have line sheets and your collection will be available on SKUE.
For the benefit of buyers who are used to writing orders by hand, we will additionally provide order forms, which we will then process via SKUE.
Who are the brands I'll get to hang with?
All amazing brands carefully curated based on the strength of their missions, inventive spirit, and collections that we believe will set the trends for the 2017 holidays.
When is the Trade Show Workshop?
We are also planning a show training meetup within the next couple of weeks with Katie Gaertner and Robyn Kessels. Katie owns a store "Whistle" in the Inner Richmond, she worked as a buyer for The Gardener and also as a rep for Keena. Robyn Kessels does visual merchandising for tradeshows like Vegas and NY NOW and also organizes a market at Joshua Tree.
